Galion Nursing Home Celebrates Resident's 81st Birthday

March 11, 2020
Galion, Ohio - We celebrated Ethlyan's birthday, March 10th. We know this 81-year-old as Luretta. She was born in Ashland, Ohio to Marjorie and Floyd. Luretta was the oldest child having one brother and five sisters. She attended Osborne School in Ashland, Ohio.

Luretta met her husband while walking home from school. "I was told that there was a cute guy, so I had to check it out." "It was love at first sight." Luretta has been married for 63 years to Macs.

Luretta and her husband raised six children. "I am very proud that I raised six children who are wonderful."

This busy gal worked in the dietary department of a nursing home. In her spare time, she was a Girl Scout Leader.

The greatest invention that she has seen is the cell phone.

A favorite food is fried chicken.

Luretta is the Vice President for our resident council. She keeps busy embroidering, reading, completing word search puzzles, playing cards, and bingo. This active lady participates in the Books on Wheels program through the Public library.

Advice to others is, "Pray a lot for good health and safety."

Mill Creek wishes Luretta a Happy Birthday.
